Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Upon arrival at Genghis Khan International Airport, you are met by our tour guide and transferred to the hotel in the city center. We set out to explore Ulaanbaatar-the capital city of Mongolia-the home to over a one third of the country's population where the traditional gers and Buddhist temples coexist with sky-kissing towers! Begin from the Gandan Monastery-Mongolia's most revered religious site-home to more than 100 Buddhist monks with beautiful chapels, courtyards and a giant 75-foot gold gilded Buddha statue.
Next, we stop in the Natural History Museum that showcases the spectacular fossils found in the Gobi desert. After lunch, we visit the National Museum of Mongolian History and culture that has rich collection of stone and Bronze Age artifacts, costumes, sacred relics and items related to the nomadic life such as hunting and fishing tools.
The balance of the day is open for you to stroll the streets of the city on your own.

Bayan Ulgii to Ulaanbaatar

Following Breakfast at the hotel we will be transferred to the airport for our internal flight to Western Mongolia, Ulgii province. The Bayan Ulgii is located in the extreme west of the country, and shares borders with both Russia and China. The border between the two neighboring countries is very short here, though, and ends after about 40 km at the eastern end of Kazakhstan. Bayan-Ulgii is the highest Mongolian aimag. For the most part it is located in the Mongolian Altay, at the transition point to the Russian Altay. About 10% of the territory is covered by forests, consisting primarily of Siberian Larch. Stay overnight in tent.

Bayan Ulgii province to Shiveet khairkhan Mountain

Today, we will make our way to travel Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain. We will have lunch in the nature. We are be able to visit a Khazak family, experiencing their unique culture. you will have a great opportunity to take some pictures for Khazak family. Stay overnight in tent.

Shiveet khairkhan Mountain to Altai Tawanbogd

In the morning we will pack our luggage and load on the camels' back. Trek to the Holy Mounts of Altai. We will reach to base camp on the edge of the Potaniin's Glacier. Enjoy an extraordinary view of Mongolian highest mountains and glacier. It takes 4-5 hours of moderate walk for 16kms. Stay overnight in tent.

Discover Altai Tavanbogd

In Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, snowcapped mountains, glacial valleys, forests and beautiful lakes and rivers create a majestic setting. In the north of the park, Khuiten peak (4374m, the highest point of Mongolia) of the Altai Tavan Bogd Mountains and the Potaniin's Glacier (23km²) draw alpine enthusiasts from around the world. This park extends over 630.000 hectares of land, including Altai, Sagsai, Ulaanhus and Tsengel soums. There are about 35 glaciers in the Altai Tavan Bogd including Potaninii Glacier. Throughout the park fishing, hiking canoeing, camping and horseback and camel riding are possible. Stay overnight in tent.

Altai Tavanbogd to Shiveet khairkhan Mountain

We will travel back to Shiveet khairkhan Mountain. Stay overnight in tent.

Shiveet khairkhan Mountain to Bayan Ulgii Province

Today, we will make our way back to Ulgii Province. We will be passing through changing ecosystems from semi desert area to steppe and mountainous steppe areas. ToStay overnight in tent.

Bayan Ulgii Province to Uvs Lake

We will drive to Uvs Lake. Uvs Lake is part of the Uvs-Nuur-Basin compassing different ecosystems. This area ranges from the permanent snowfields in the Turgen mountains over the lakes and wetlands areas up to the desert of Altan Els. Stay overnight in tent.

Uvs Lake to Tsetserleg Sum

We will drive for 2 full days through the unique nature. We will enjoy true nomadic hospitality in this remote corner of the world with the Durvud minority group of Mongolia. Stay overnight in tent.

Tsetserleg sum to Khuvsgul National park

Today, we will make our way to travel to Khuvsgul national park. Transfer to the camp and lunch. Visit with yak breeding family, experiencing their unique culture. Stay overnight in ger at the tourist camp (Ger means Mongolian traditional felt accommodation).

Discover Khuvsgul National park

During whole lovely day, you have an opportunity to ride reindeer and observe them. Kayak trip on the lake. Khuvsgul Lake is reckoned among the purest fresh water lakes in the world. Its surroundings right out of a fairytale. Khuvsgul Lake is the second deepest lake in Central Asia and contains 60% as much water as Lake Baikal. Depth of Khuvsgul Lake is 262 meters and 136 kilometers long. Stay overnight in ger at the tourist camp.

Murun province to Ulaanbaatar

In the morning, we will fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to the hotel and lunch at the finest restaurant in Ulaanbaatar. In the afternoon free time do shopping for cashmere shop, souvenir shop and State Department Store. A farewell dinner at the local restaurant and stay overnight in hotel.

Cultural Show

All airport transfers and sightseeing will be by private cars, SUVs and mini bus. The arrival and departure transfers will be by Sedan Cars which are usually Japanese made Toyota or Honda cars. Sightseeing within Ulaanbaatar will be by an air conditioned minibus. Outside Ulaanbaatar, we provide 4WD Land cruisers or SUVs. There will be 3 to 4 travelers seated in a 4WD vehicle.
